How to build and test a Zap with Giftogram

In order to get started, make sure you have:

  • Access to a Giftogram Sandbox account

  • Super Admin access to a Giftogram account

  1. Log into your Zapier account, click Create on the top left of the page, and select Zaps from the dropdown menu.

  2. Select Trigger, and then search for and select the app that will be triggering your Zap.

  3. Complete the setup by selecting your triggering event and signing into your account. For more detailed instructions on configuring your trigger, please refer to the Zapier helpdesk.

In this example, we will use HubSpot as the app and select New Contact Property Change as the triggering event.

  4. We can now set up Giftogram as the Zap's action. Choose Action, search for Giftogram, and select It as the app.

  5. From the action event dropdown, select Send Giftogram as the action for your Zap.

  6. Select Sign In and choose whether this zap will be connected to your sandbox or live account.

  7. In your Giftogram account, navigate the API section of your account settings to create your API Key.

  8. Enter the API key generated from your Giftogram account and continue.

  9. From the Campaigns section of your Giftogram account, select Create a Campaign, choose API Campaign, and then select Setup Campaign. Continue through the campaign settings and click Create Campaign when you are finished.

  10. Back in Zapier, on the configuration step, choose the campaign to connect to your Zap.

  11. Next, map the name and email fields and enter your campaign's subject, denomination, and message.

  12. Test your Zap to ensure that everything is working as expected. You can confirm the test gift was queued successfully by checking the digital order history in your Sandbox account.

  13. For further Sandbox testing, publish your Zap and test the trigger set from within the selected app.

How to switch your Zap to your production Giftogram account

Note: If this is your first API campaign, please contact your account manager after finishing your testing in the Sandbox to activate API campaigns in your production account.

  1. Navigate to your published Zap in Zapier and select Edit Zap at the top right of the page.

  2. Select the Giftogram tile and return to the Setup step to find your account details. Then, select the blue Change button to log in to your production account.

  3. Repeat steps 8 - 13 within your production Giftogram account

  4. With your account changed, you can continue and send another test before publishing your Zap into production.

Note: We recommend setting up your production API campaign with Require Admin Approval enabled to start. Once you confirm everything is running as expected, you can disable it.
