What is a smart campaign?

Smart Campaigns automatically send digital Giftograms for key events like birthdays and anniversaries or for enrollments as recipients are added to your account.

Note: Smart campaigns require that you save recipients in your account and deposit funds before the campaign's start date.

How to create a smart campaign

From the Campaigns section of your account, click Create Campaign at the top right of the page. Next, select Smart Campaigns to begin applying your settings to your new campaign. Campaign settings are divided into four main categories: General, Giftogram, Recipients, and Billing and shipping.

General

  • Start Date & End Date: Select a timeframe for your campaign to remain active. Leaving the End Date blank will allow your smart campaign to run indefinitely.

  • Require Admin Approval: By default, admin approval is on. This means each smart campaign gift is added to your Approval Queue for review. Turning this off will enable gifts to go out without any review.

  • Automation Details

    • Automation Trigger: Smart campaigns can be triggered by either recipient key dates or enrollment, which is based on the creation of a new recipient.

    • Key Date: If the trigger is set to Key Date you can select which date will trigger the campaign. The default choices are Birthday and Hire Date.

    • Frequency: Select Send every year for campaigns that are not based on tenure or Milestone for campaigns that are. If milestone is selected, you will also need to select the frequency for the campaign to send.

  • Catalog & Denomination: Select the currency, catalog, and denomination for your gifts.

Note:

  • Years must be included in your recipient date fields in order to use Milestones.

  • Smart campaigns can only be in one currency. If you have recipients in multiple countries, you must organize them into separate groups. Each group can then be assigned to its own smart campaign.

Giftogram

  • Brand Kit: Select a Brand Kit to assign to the campaign. You can read more about Brand Kits here: Creating brand kits

    • Sender Name: You can select a Sender Name from your Brand Kit or use Create Sender Name to add a new name to your kit.

    • Giftogram Message: Create or select a message to be included in your gifts.

  • Design: Select the design you'd like to use.

Recipients

  • Select the group of recipients for this campaign

Billing

  • Smart campaigns are funded from your account balance. Gifts will not be queued without the required funding.
