Managing user roles and team permissions in Giftogram

Learn how to create custom roles, manage user permissions, and control access to teams in your Giftogram account.

Giftogram allows you to manage what users can access and how they interact with teams. Choose from predefined roles or create custom roles with specific permissions to fit your organization's needs.

Custom user roles

Custom roles give you greater control over which features and functions each user can access.

With custom roles, you can:

  • Choose specific permissions. Control who can send gifts, view reports, manage users, update account settings, and more.

  • Create roles from scratch or use a preset. Start with an existing role and customize it to fit your needs.

  • Manage permissions in one place. Update a role at any time, and changes automatically apply to everyone assigned to it.

You can create and manage custom roles under Settings & Preferences → Manage User Roles. Once created, roles can be assigned to existing users or selected when inviting new users to your account.

Admin access and team membership

Admins can view activity across teams, manage users, and transfer funds without being members of each team.

However, admins must be members of a team to send gifts, create campaigns, or use other features within that team.

Admins who work across multiple teams can join the teams they need access to at any time, directly from the team's details page.

If you're an admin who only manages users, views activity, or transfers funds across teams, no additional team membership is required for those actions.

Managing permissions as your team grows

Roles and team memberships work together to determine what users can access and do within Giftogram.

You can continue using Giftogram's predefined roles or create custom roles to match your organization's needs. As responsibilities change, permissions can be updated at any time without having to manage each user's access individually.
